A Romulan, Orum was assimilated by the Borg and became a drone. He travelled to the Delta quadrant where his cube was crippled in an accident. Orum settled on a nearby planet with many other ex-drones. When Chakotay was stranded on the planet in 2373, Orum manipulated him into creating a modified version of the collective to enforce peace on his world. [1]
