An ancestor of Commander William Riker, Colonel Riker fought in the United States Civil War. He was on the side of the Union, and had the nickname "Old Iron Boots". During Sherman's March to the Sea, Riker commanded the 102nd New York Infantry. He was wounded at the Battle of Pine Mountain and was carried from the front lines by another soldier. In 2372 this man was found to be Quinn, a member of the Q continuum. [1]
