Durik was a male Vulcan and member of the Vulcan Science Academy. He served as an instructor at the academy and in 2259 he interviewed Christine Chapel for a two month archaeological medicine fellowship with the academy. He said she lacked field experience and criticised her application essay as she failed to reproduce Roger Korby's three pincipalesq exactly. [1]Durik later contacted Chapel to inform her that she had not been selected for the fellowship. Chapel informed explained that she had recently travelled to interdimensional space and encountered a formerly unknown species with advanced medical knowledge. This impressed Durik, who has intrigued to learn more. Chapel told him that he could read about it in her next paper. [1]
