A native of the planet Beta III, Marplon was an official in Landru's government. He was also secretly a member of the resistance which opposed Landru. He helped Captain Kirk to survive his visit to the planet and led him to a confrontation with Landru, leading to the overthrow of the machine intelligence. [1]
