Lieutenant Chapin served aboard the USS Enterprise in 2259 of a the Kelvin alternate reality. He was on duty after the attack on the ship by the USS Vengeance. He monitored Kirk and Khan's attempt to transfer ship to ship using space suits and track the debris field warning Spock each of any issues.
