Rumpelstiltskin is a figure from Earth mythology. In 2369 an alien being manifested itself as the character as part of an effort to understand Human imagination. Like the original Rumpelstiltskin he offered to solve a problem - dispersing the anomaly which was apparently threatening the station - in return for Chief O'Brien's daughter, Molly. The demand was not met. [1]
