A Human Starfleet officer, Zhao was the captain of the Starship Endeavor in 2265. He commanded the ship during its investigation of the planet Erilon during that year. [1]Zhao liked to keep meetings aboard the ship frequent, but also brief and to the point. He was also very committed to punctuality amongst his subordinates. Zhao was killed on Erilon during the investigation of the alien structure there when a hostile life form emerged from it. [2]
