A woman encountered by Voyager in 2377, Brin's species had virtually obliterated themselves centuries before when the Earth probe Friendship One landed on their planet with a cargo of advanced technological information. Her people used antimatter technology to build weapons and reactors, but a devastating accident polluted their world. Like the rest of her people, Brin was badly scarred by radiation. She had given birth to two children, both of whom had been stillborn because of the radiation. Despite this she came to trust Voyager's crew somewhat. [1]
