A member of a species encountered by Voyager in 2377, Nocona was in command of a group of alien miners. He was busy demolishing asteroids with thermolyte explosives for their raw materials, and was unconcerned with the fact that one of his targets was inhabited by a group of Talaxian settlers. Despite Captain Janeway's efforts to negotiate a settlement Nocona was determined to proceed, and was only prevented when the Talaxians established a shield grid around the asteroid with the help of Neelix and Voyager.
