One of the children who accompanied the Starnes expedition, Tsing Tao became a follower of the noncorporeal entity named Gorgan. He attempted to take control of the ship by using the abilities which Gorgan had given him to manipulate the crew. Gorgan's control over Tsing Tao was broken when Captain Kirk forced him to confront the death of his parents on the expedition. [1]
