Lore was one of Dr. Soong's several failed attempts to create a positronic android. As with several of his efforts, Lore was physically almost identical to Soong but had different skin and eye colouring. Unfortunately Lore developed severe personality problems; he allied with the Crystalline Entity to destroy the Omicron Theta colony. [1] When the dissasembled Lore was discovered by the crew of the Enterprise-D he attempted to use the Crystalline Entity to destroy the ship. [1] Later he stole the emotion chip which Soong created for Data, killing the scientist in the process. [2] Even more unstable with the chip in place, Lore allied himself with a group of Borg. [3] Ultimately defeated, he was dismantled by Data. [4]
