A soldier with the Japanese army during the 20th century, Nogami was abducted by aliens in 1937 and transported to a planet in the Delta Quadrant. He was kept in suspended animation until 2371, when he was woken by Captain Janeway. Although initially startled, Nogami managed to adapt to his new surroundings and managed to settle on the planet. [1]
