Doctor Gyud was a female Lutani scientist and part of the Metamorphosis Program. The program aimed to convert Jikaru into weapons for their war with the Kasar. She eventually came to believe that the work was a "terrible, awful mistake". [1]In 2261 the first Jikaru was being transferred from Tychus B to to Lutani VII. Gyud took a Lutani scout ship and attacked the Jikaru, damaging the neural dampener that acted as a control mechanism for the animal. Her ship was attacked by the Jikaru when it released a massive radiation bust against her ship. [1]She was beamed aboard the USS Enterprise were she warned Starfleet not to assist in the project before dying of her injuries. [1]
