Yarka was a strongly traditionalist Bajoran Vedek who was stripped of his title for 'teachings not in keeping with the Bajoran faith'. He visited Deep Space Nine in 2371 to warn Commander Sisko that an ancient prophecy made by Trakor was about to come true and that this would result in the wormhole being destroyed. In fact this did not happen, though Yarka maintained that the prophecy was correct and only his interpretation of it had been wrong. [1]
