A Nakan, Saavdra was a soldier whose men massacred 82 settlers on the planet Tarakis. Saavdra had ordered the settlers to be forcibly evacuated, but in the tense situation his men panicked and opened fire on the civilians. Once started, the massacre escalated out of any control and the entire colonist group were slaughtered. Afterwards, Saavdra attempted a cover up by vaporizing the bodies. The truth emerged, however, and the Nakan erected a memorial on the planet which broadcast telepathic images of the massacre. [1]
