A native of Barkon IV, Gia was the daughter of Garvin. She befriended Lieutenant Commander Data when he suffered an accident on the planet which removed many of his memories. Like many of her people, Garvin became contaminated with radiation from parts of a Starfleet probe which Data was carrying. Fortunately Data was able to devise a cure and she survived. [1]
