A file clerk who worked at the infamous Gallitep labour camp, Marritza was so traumatised by the mistreatment of the Bajorans at the camp that after the occupation ended he decided to undergo plastic surgery in order to impersonate Gul Darhe'el, the commander of the camp. Marritza planned to allow himself to be captured on Deep Space Nine and so undergo trial; he hoped that his confession would force the Cardassians to begin to accept the atrocities they had perpetrated in the occupation. His plan failed when Major Kira uncovered his identity. Marritza was murdered by Kainon as he left Deep Space Nine. [1]
