Rurigan was a resident of Yadera Prime, but when the Dominion took control of the planet and changed the way of life there, he found that he no longer fitted in. He left, settling on an uninhabited planet where he used a holographic generator to create an entire new community for himself. The generator eventually began to malfunction, and when Dax and Odo discovered it in 2370 many of the people in the village had begun to vanish because of the fault. Dax was able to repair the device and restore the village. [1]
