An officer aboard the USS Reliant, Beach was in command of the ship whilst Captain Terrell and Commander Chekov beamed down to investigate life form readings on Ceti Alpha V. Beach was captured with the rest of the crew when Khan seized the ship, and was marooned on the planet. He was subsequently rescued after Khan's defeat by Kirk. [1]
