A Vulcan, Mestral was a member of a survey ship which crashed on Earth in the 1950s whilst investigating the planet. He became deeply impressed with Humanity despite their technological simplicity and cultural difficulties. Mestral became romantically involved with Maggie, and elected to remain on Earth when the rescue vessel finally arrived. [1]
