Polk was a Human male Starfleet officer from the operations division. He piloted a shuttle that delivered Chapel to the moon of J'Gal during the Federation - Klingon war. When Polk approached he was given clearance to land, however, he found it safer to get as close as possible and then use the ships transporter to beam people to the hospital's pad. [1]
