A Benkaran, Joleg was one of the prisoners aboard the Nygean prisoner transport ship which Voyager assisted in 2377. Joleg had been sentanced to death for murder, a crime he maintained that he had not committed. Joleg became friends with Neelix whilst travelling aboard Voyager; unknown to Neelix Joleg was merely manipulating him, and concealed Voyager's location in a message he convinced Neelix to send to his brother. The brother mounted an escape attempt, but this failed and Joleg was successfully returned to Nygean custody. [1]
