Rex was a male human security officer, with the rank of Lieutenant, on the USS Enterprise in 2261. He was responsible for guarding the Vezda life-form when he was in custody on the ship. Unfortunately the entity tricked Rex into coming too close, using information about Rex's mother Jada. Having come too close the Vezda was able to breech the containment field and kill Rec, allowing the entity to escape once more. [2]
