A Trill scientist, Kahn visited Deep Space Nine in 2372 as part of an attempt to create an artificial wormhole. A former host of the Khan symbiont was married to Torias, a former host of the Dax symbiont. Lenara and Jadzia developed romantic feelings for one another during Kahn's visit, bringing them into conflict with the Trill taboo on reassociation. Jadzia was willing to pursue the relationship even though it would have meant that both symbionts would be denied any further hosts, but Lenara decided that the cost was just too great. [1]
